# Alex Bouaziz

- Also known as: Alexandre Bouaziz · Alexandre Nathanel Ephraim Bouaziz · Alexandre Nathanel Ephraïm Bouaziz · Alexandre N. E. Bouaziz

**Question.** What roles does Alex Bouaziz hold, and what is he accused of?

**Answer.** Alexandre (Alex) Bouaziz co-founded Deel in 2019 with Shuo Wang and is its chief executive; the business news outlet estimates his stake at about 12%. Registers show him as a director or registered controller of Deel subsidiaries in the UK and Europe, and a business news outlet reports that he helped set up his family's Sarona Ventures fund. Rippling alleges that he recruited and directed a spy inside Rippling, an account supported by Keith O'Brien's affidavit, and he was reported in April 2025 to have been joined to Rippling's Irish case. He has called the case frivolous, and Deel denies the allegations; no court has ruled on their merits.

## Roles and holdings

- Analysis: The business news outlet reported in October 2025 that Alex Bouaziz and Shuo Wang cofounded Deel in 2019 after meeting as students at MIT, and estimates that each holds about 12% of the company, an estimate rather than a disclosure. In a July 2026 interview Bouaziz said seven or eight of Deel's roughly 7,000 employees are members of his family and that only his father, Philippe Bouaziz, works directly with him. A business news outlet reported in October 2025 that he was a partner in setting up Sarona Ventures, a fund it said is owned by his father; no registry record of the fund's ownership is retained. - Analysis: In the United Kingdom he has been registered as a person with significant influence or control of LETS DEEL LTD since 20 March 2019, alongside Deel Inc.'s shareholding until February 2026, after which the register records no new corporate shareholder and states no reason for the change, and of Omnipresent Group Limited since 30 September 2025. An aggregator's network shows him as managing director of Deel Germany, director of Deel Solutions and Letsdeel Spain, chief executive of Deel Finland and former president of Deel France, relations it marks as unverified. ## Allegations that name him

- Analysis: Rippling alleges that Bouaziz hired Keith O'Brien, a Rippling employee in Ireland, as a corporate spy paid in cryptocurrency and directed him to take confidential information; its spokesperson told the business news outlet, in a statement that is not a finding, that Bouaziz "personally directed and received, multiple times a day, stolen downloads". O'Brien says in his affidavit that Bouaziz suggested on a WhatsApp call in late September 2024 that he stay at Rippling and become a "spy" for a monetary reward, a sworn account that has not been tested at trial. Bouaziz has called the case "frivolous", and Deel's counterclaims describe O'Brien as a job-seeker who sent unsolicited information and was coerced into a false account. These are Rippling's allegations: on 23 February 2026 the court held most of Rippling's claims plausibly pleaded, a ruling on the pleadings, and the case continues without a merits ruling. - Analysis: A technology news outlet reported in April 2025 that the Irish High Court had approved Rippling's motion to add Bouaziz and two Deel lawyers as parties to its action; Deel denied the allegations and had not yet responded in court. The report concerns a procedural ruling, and O'Brien's accusations are untested. Rippling's complaint also cites a Papaya Global co-founder's statement that Bouaziz had asked a relative of a Papaya co-founder to pass on information, and alleges that Deel leaked a false bid for Papaya; neither is a finding, and the record contains no Deel response to the statement, though in June 2026 Deel opened a proceeding to compel Papaya to comply with a subpoena whose subject is not in the record. Rippling further reports Toku's allegation that he took part in a trade-secret scheme involving Deel's partner LiquiFi; the Toku filings are not retained. [src-101] [src-065]
- Analysis: A technology news outlet reported in January 2026, citing a court document, that Bouaziz had retained William Frentzen of Morrison Foerster's white-collar defence group. A news outlet, which interviewed him in July 2026, wrote that a federal criminal investigation would require Deel to disclose significant legal risks before a listing; that is the newspaper's assessment, and no charges are reported. In the interview he said he could not say much about the litigation while it was under way and described legal disputes as something that happens when competitors want to hurt each other.
