# Philippe Bouaziz

- Also known as: Philip Bouaziz

**Question.** What roles does Philippe Bouaziz hold, and what is he accused of?

**Answer.** Philippe Bouaziz, Alex Bouaziz's father, was Deel's chief financial officer from its founding until November 2025, when he became executive chairman and chief strategy officer. He founded and chairs the French software group Prodware and chairs the Sarona investment group, which a business news outlet reports he owns. Rippling names him as a defendant, describing him as Deel's chairman, chief financial officer and whistleblowing contact, and O'Brien says he arranged payments in cryptocurrency so they would leave "no trace". These allegations have not been tested in court, and Deel disputes them.

## Roles

- Analysis: In November 2025 Deel said Philippe Bouaziz, its chief financial officer since its founding, was moving into the new role of executive chairman and chief strategy officer as Joe Kauffman became president and chief financial officer. Deel's leadership page describes him as a founder partner responsible for corporate strategy and capital allocation and as its former chief financial officer in charge of finance and mergers and acquisitions. He has been a director of LETS DEEL LTD since 1 June 2022 and of Omnipresent Group Limited since 10 December 2025. [src-023] [src-037] [src-006] [src-010] [src-111]
- Analysis: France's register lists him as chairman of PRODWARE SA, which Deel says he founded, and a news outlet reported that he bought it back in early 2026 through a holding company he owns, which the report does not name. A technology news outlet reported that he founded Sarona Ventures in 2017 with Toot Shani as an arm of the Sarona Partners Group, which he chairs, and a business news outlet reported in October 2025 that he owns the fund; no registry record of its ownership is retained. ## Allegations that name him

- Analysis: Rippling's amended complaint names him as a defendant and describes him as Deel's board chair, chief financial officer and whistleblowing contact who until recently also called himself general counsel; it alleges that he benefits financially from Deel through Sarona Ventures and Bouaziz & Partners, and cites an April 2025 report that he boasted of having "spies at other companies". O'Brien says in his affidavit that Philippe Bouaziz told him later payments would be made in cryptocurrency because this would leave "no trace", sworn testimony not tested at trial. These are allegations; no court has ruled on them, and the court's September 2026 order summarises the complaint as describing him as chief financial officer, chairman and "purported whistleblowing contact". According to a March 2026 report by a business news outlet, Deel has given the US court explanations for the payments, described in the headline as a "job transition" and second-hand luxury watches. - Analysis: According to a business news outlet's account of a report by a technology news outlet, he offered Deel shares to potential buyers at investor conferences, and a Meritech Capital partner called Deel's governance a recipe for disaster while General Catalyst's chief executive said the family dynamic did not trouble him. These are opinions and reported conduct, not findings. [src-097]
