# Who ran Tricolor: executives and directors

**Question.** Who were Tricolor's executives and directors, and what other roles did they hold?

**Answer.** Daniel Chu was Tricolor's founder, chief executive and chairman; in December 2023 his leadership team included chief operating officer David Goodgame and chief financial officer Jerry Kollar. The seven directors then listed were Dann Adams, Dick Anderson, Beth Brooke, Christian Donohue, Antonio Garza, Kathryn Petralia and Derrick Weatherspoon, of whom Donohue and Weatherspoon were BlackRock employees; several held board seats at listed companies documented in SEC filings.

## Officers

- Analysis: Tricolor's leadership page, as archived on December 10, 2023, listed Daniel Chu as founder, chief executive and chairman; Andrew DeLuca as chief compliance officer and deputy general counsel; David Goodgame as chief operating officer; Jerry Kollar as chief financial officer; James Li as chief risk officer; Eduardo Perez as chief customer officer; and Staci Tubbs as chief people officer. Three years earlier, in December 2020, Tricolor had announced Nick Brown as chief risk officer, after five years in that role at OnDeck Capital, Albert Hoover as chief corporate development and legal officer, previously at AT&T, and Troy Sterk as chief supply chain officer, joining the recently hired chief product and strategy officer Jennifer Lee and chief compliance officer Stacie Trier; by December 2023 the risk and compliance roles were held by others, and the records do not date the changes. - Analysis: Jerome A. (Jerry) Kollar joined Tricolor in 2015 and, according to the company's website text as reproduced in a people-data profile, was responsible for all aspects of its financial and administrative management as chief financial officer. Earlier, according to filings by nFinanSe Inc., he had been liquidation trustee, acting chief financial officer and senior vice president, finance and controller of FAO, Inc. from August 2001 and interim chief financial officer of The Picture People, Inc. from October 2005, before nFinanSe appointed him vice president, finance and controller in May 2007; he resigned from nFinanSe for personal reasons with effect from November 4, 2011. David Goodgame was promoted to chief operating officer in 2020, overseeing all core processes of the business; his company biography, in a commercial people-data profile, describes sixteen years in supply chain management and analytics, including eleven in the semiconductor industry, and six years in the U.S. Army. An earlier chief executive, Mauricio Delgado, signed the 2015 FTC consent order for Tricolor Auto Acceptance in that capacity; a people-data profile lists him as chief executive of Tricolor Auto Group LLC until December 31, 2015, and in a 2020 interview he said he had been chief financial officer and then chief executive of Tricolor when it was backed by private equity, the dates of his offices not being in any company filing. - Analysis: The noteholders alleged that around the time of the February 2024 audits Tricolor hired JPMorgan to help with an initial public offering; that JPMorgan's equity capital markets team, shown the same accounting irregularities as its securitisation team, also found that Kollar had previously been associated with a large accounting fraud that resulted in a criminal indictment; and that JPMorgan pushed Chu to replace Kollar and ultimately abandoned the IPO. A November 2025 news investigation reported that the IPO push stalled, complicated by lawsuits against the company. These are allegations in the noteholders' complaint, dismissed in July 2026; the complaint does not name the earlier matter, no retained record shows Kollar charged in it, and his 2025 guilty plea concerns Tricolor. ## Directors

- Analysis: The December 2023 leadership page listed seven directors: Dann Adams, a long-time Equifax executive; Dick Anderson, founding and managing partner of the Texas real estate firm HPI; Beth Brooke, formerly global vice chair of public policy at EY; Christian Donohue, a managing director in BlackRock's Global Credit Platform; Antonio Garza, a former U.S. ambassador to Mexico; Kathryn Petralia, co-founder of Kabbage; and Derrick Weatherspoon, a senior portfolio manager in BlackRock's Alternative Solutions Group who joined BlackRock in 2021. Tricolor had announced Adams's appointment on April 30, 2019, those of Petralia and Garza on December 7, 2020, and Brooke's on January 6, 2021, when she was also to chair the audit committee. People-data profiles compiled in 2025 list Richard E. (Dick) Anderson and Stan Erwin as board members of Tricolor Holdings; HPI's website describes Stan Erwin as a development and investment partner who joined HPI in 2011 after Trammell Crow, and a March 2023 release by GAST Clearwater appointing Dick Anderson to its board said he also sat on the boards of Uplogix and Tricolor Holdings. The Stan Erwin of the HPI page is matched to the Tricolor board member by name and firm only. - Analysis: Two of the 2023 directors were BlackRock employees. A 2023 executive-workshop booklet describes Derrick Weatherspoon as a senior portfolio manager of the BlackRock Impact Opportunities fund and a director of Tricolor Holdings, LLC; IMB Partners had announced his promotion to managing director in February 2021, shortly before he joined BlackRock. Christian Donohue had been a managing director of Tennenbaum Capital Partners when BlackRock acquired it in 2018. No retained record states that either director was appointed under the terms of BlackRock's 2021 preferred equity investment, or when Weatherspoon joined the board, and an obituary of a person of the same name is not linked to him by any record and is not used. ## Directors' roles elsewhere

- Analysis: Several directors' other roles are documented in SEC filings. CoreCard Corporation added Kathryn Petralia as an independent director in October 2022, noting that she came to its attention through Kabbage, a customer and investee of CoreCard, and Near Intelligence, Inc.'s May 2023 registration statement, listing her as a director since March 23, 2023, names Tricolor among her other boards. eHealth, Inc.'s 2021 proxy statement describes Beth Brooke as an eHealth director since August 2019 and as a member of the boards of The New York Times Company and of the private companies Beta Bionics, Inc. and Tricolor Holdings; Tricolor's January 2021 release notes that she had served in the office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Treasury during the Clinton administration. Antonio O. Garza, Jr. has been counsel at White & Case since 2009 and a director of Kansas City Southern since 2010, after serving as U.S. ambassador to Mexico from 2002 to January 2009, chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission (1998–2002) and Texas secretary of state (1994–1997); Scotiabank lists him as an independent director since April 14, 2026. Dann Adams, president of Equifax Global Consumer Solutions from January 2016 after joining Equifax in 1999, joined the board of ClearForce, Inc. in November 2019, while also on Tricolor's board.
