the questionWhat do later records show about former Lehman officers and directors?
1Former executives
analysisAccording to an online encyclopedia article, Richard S. Fuld, Jr. said in March 2009 that he had joined Matrix Advisors in New York, and from May 2010 until early 2012 was registered with FINRA as employed by the broker-dealer Legend Securities. The website of Matrix Private Capital Group, founded in 2016, describes him as its founder, chairman and chief executive and as the former chairman and chief executive of Lehman Brothers. 1 2
analysisSEC filings show Ian T. Lowitt in July 2026 as a director and chief executive of Marex Group (ticker MRX), holding 2,794,216 ordinary shares after sales under a Rule 10b5-1 plan, and Companies House lists him as a director of Marex UK Holdings Limited from 2012 to July 14, 2026. In October 2025 a law firm for investors announced a securities class action, Katz v. Marex Group plc et al., alleging that Marex overstated cash flow, revenue, assets and the profitability of its market-making segment; a docket aggregator lists Lowitt among the defendants. These were the plaintiffs' allegations. A February 18, 2026 court order refers to the defendants' forthcoming motions to dismiss. On April 13, 2026 the plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the action with prejudice and without costs against Marex Group PLC, Lowitt and the other named individual defendant. A related case (25-cv-8393) continued, and in August 2026 a motion for preliminary approval of a proposed class settlement in it was referred to a magistrate judge. 3 4 5 6 7
analysisAn amended Form D filed in March 2014 by River Birch Partners, LP names Herbert H. McDade III as an executive officer and a managing member of its general partner, River Birch Capital GP, LLC, and reports $114,920,495 of interests sold. A financial-data aggregator describes Christopher M. O'Meara as founder of Conduit Securities and, since 2024, chief executive of Conduit Asset Management, and as LBHI's chief risk officer from 2007 to 2015; those dates are the aggregator's and are not confirmed by a primary record. 8 9

2A former director
analysisThe FCA's Final Notice of August 5, 2022 describes Sir Christopher Gent as chief executive of Vodafone Group from 1997 to 2003, non-executive chairman of GlaxoSmithKline from 2005 to 2015 and non-executive chairman of ConvaTec from 2016 to 2019. It imposed a penalty of £80,000 for unlawfully disclosing inside information: on October 10, 2018, as ConvaTec's chairman, he told two major shareholders of a forthcoming guidance revision and the chief executive's departure before they were announced. The FCA found that he acted negligently and made no profit. He argued that he was not negligent and that any breach was inadvertent; the FCA accepted some of his representations but not these. The matter concerns ConvaTec and is unrelated to Lehman. 1

3Former German executives
analysisAccording to an online encyclopedia article, Hans Martin Bury, a member of the German Bundestag from 1990 to 2005 and a Minister of State from 1999 to 2005, became a managing director in Lehman Brothers' European investment banking division and from 2008 a member of the board, and after the bank's insolvency was managing partner of the consultancy Hering Schuppener until 2017. A commercial sanctions and politically-exposed-persons database lists him as a former public official; the match is by name and unverified, and the entry concerns public offices, is not a sanctions designation and does not mention Lehman. A 2005 news item reports that Dr. Patrick Schmitz-Morkramer, who had worked for Lehman since 1999 and was an executive director in its German investment banking business, joined the supervisory board of Vivacon AG, and Leonteq announced in February 2025 that Christian Spieler, who joined Lehman in 2005 as head of capital markets for Germany and Austria, would become its chief executive. 1 2 3 4
