analysisThe Monetary Authority of Singapore lists Airwallex (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. as a major payment institution licensed for account issuance, domestic and cross-border money transfer, merchant acquisition and e-money issuance, with Wu Kai named as key personnel; the licensing disclosure gives licence number PS20200541 and names Airwallex Capital (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. as holder of capital markets services licence CMS101830. In Hong Kong the disclosure lists Airwallex (Hong Kong) Ltd as a money service operator licensed by the Customs and Excise Department (licence 16-09-01929); the Hong Kong Monetary Authority lists UniCard Solution Limited as a stored value facility licensee (SVF0009) since 4 November 2016, and the Securities and Futures Commission shows Airwallex Capital Hong Kong Limited (CE number BUL570) licensed since 2 September 2024 for advising on securities and asset management, with no licence for virtual-asset services. Japan's Financial Services Agency lists Airwallex Japan K.K. (corporate number 1010401137711) as an electronic payment agency service provider (No. 119, 4 September 2023) and a second-type funds transfer service provider (No. 00100, from 8 September 2025), and the disclosure adds a registration as a credit-card-number handler. Bank Negara Malaysia lists Airwallex (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (1269761X) as a registered non-bank merchant acquirer and e-money issuer with foreign ownership, whose e-money products are a multi-currency digital wallet and a corporate Visa prepaid card; the disclosure adds a money services business licence. Airwallex (New Zealand) Ltd is registered on New Zealand's Financial Service Providers Register as FSP1001602, and Yunhui Pay Co. Ltd is listed as licensed by the People's Bank of China for Type I stored value accounts (Z2025844000016), both according to the disclosure only; no Chinese record of Yunhui Pay is retained and its ownership is not stated. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

analysisSome of these licences came with acquisitions. A technology news site reported on 5 March 2021 that Airwallex had completed its acquisition of the Hong Kong prepaid card operator UniCard Solution after the Hong Kong Monetary Authority consented to Airwallex becoming a shareholder controller; a private-markets database records Airwallex Pty Limited as the buyer and lists Mastercard International Incorporated and Airwallex as current investors. The database is the only retained record naming the Australian company as buyer; the group's disclosure describes UniCard as a group member without naming its shareholder. A regional technology news site reported on 10 December 2025, citing an Airwallex statement, that the group had acquired majority ownership of PT Skye Sab Indonesia, holder of a category 1 payment service provider licence (Bank Indonesia licence 23/583/DKSP/Srt/B). A South Korean business newspaper reported on 22 January 2026 that Airwallex had acquired Paynuri, which holds electronic payment gateway and prepaid payment instrument licences and a foreign-exchange business registration; a Korean company database lists the former Paynuri under the name Airwallex Korea, with a representative whose name it renders as Kai Wu; the database does not identify that person further, so the person is not linked here to the group executive of that name. In neither case is the buyer within the group or the size of the stake stated, and no Korean regulator record is retained. 8 9 10 2 11 12 13

The disclosure also lists Airwallex (Canada) International Payments Ltd as registered with FINTRAC as a money services business (M19395067), licensed in Québec and applying to the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider, and Airwallex (Israel) Ltd (company number 516851961) as authorised by the Israel Securities Authority to provide payment services. On 15 January 2025 Airwallex announced that it had finalised the acquisition of MexPago, a Mexican electronic payment funds institution, and that its founder and chief executive Luis Castillejos Ordaz would become country manager for Mexico; the disclosure names the licensee as MexPago Transacciones, S.A.P.I. de C.V., licensed by Mexico's National Banking and Securities Commission. A deal database dates the acquisition to 19 October 2023, presumably the agreement, and the buyer within the group is not named. 1 2 3 4 5
