Scope and method

Covers First Brands Group, LLC, its parent holding companies, operating subsidiaries in the United States, Europe and Canada, the special purpose vehicles held by Viceroy Private Capital, its officers and managers, lenders, factors, lessors and buyers, and the civil, bankruptcy and criminal proceedings concerning them, from the company's formation in 2013 (with earlier disputes involving the founder's prior businesses) to records retrieved on October 15, 2026. It relies on the documents retained by one research collection, whose own records describe the research as incomplete; documents outside that collection, including most of the bankruptcy docket and the sealed or redacted parts of the examiner's report, were not read.

Every statement and relationship extracted from the retained documents was read and given a recorded decision, and each public claim was compared with the exact passage of its source document. Allegations were searched for across all retained document text for responses and outcomes, which are kept beside each claim; a refusal to comment is not treated as a response. Sources other than allowlisted official records of the U.S. Department of Justice, the SEC, federal courts, the European Commission, a House select committee, the State of Ohio, Companies House, the Florida corporate register and GLEIF are identified by category only. Personal details such as ages, birth dates, citizenship and home addresses are omitted. The review was carried out by an AI editor without independent human review.
