the questionWhich legal companies sit behind the Atlantic Money and Deel Payments names?
1The UK company and its dated parent descriptions
analysisAtlantic Money Ltd became DEEL PAYMENTS UK LTD on April 16, 2026, retaining company number 13057810. Its December 2025 confirmation statement lists Atlantic Money, Inc. as holder of all six ordinary shares. The 2024 accounts, however, call Deel Inc. both immediate and ultimate parent. These dated descriptions are reproduced as different records rather than silently collapsing the American intermediate company into Deel Inc. A PSC page with no registrable person does not mean the company has no owner.
documentedThe confirmation statement for Atlantic Money Ltd, company number 13057810 and later named DEEL PAYMENTS UK LTD, identifies Atlantic Money, Inc. as holder of all six listed ordinary shares at 1 December 2025. 2 3 4
- qualification
- The 2024 accounts separately describe Deel Inc. as immediate and ultimate parent and say there is no ultimate controlling party in the directors’ opinion. The different dated descriptions are preserved; this dossier does not silently replace the later direct shareholder with the parent named in those accounts.
- response
- The retained PSC page has no active individual or corporate PSC and one active statement. That reporting position is not proof that the company has no shareholder.
analysisThe retained officer list names Neeraj Baid, Cathlene Belknap, Asif Malik, Yonatan Muyal and Anthony Verhelpen as directors, with Oakwood acting as corporate secretary. Patrick Grossmann-Kavanagh’s tenure ended in January 2024. Those appointments describe responsibilities within the legal company; a corporate-services role or shared service address is not itself an ownership link. 5
documentedThe UK payment company’s retained officer list records Neeraj Baid, Cathlene Belknap, Asif Malik, Yonatan Muyal and Anthony Verhelpen as active directors. Oakwood Corporate Secretary Limited is company secretary. Patrick Grossmann-Kavanagh’s directorship ended on 3 January 2024. 5
- qualification
- Corporate secretary and director roles do not establish beneficial ownership.
analysisThe UK company’s unaudited 2024 balance sheet reports about £2.07 million cash, £1.85 million short-term creditors and £259,483 net assets, with three employees. Those limited local accounts cannot be used as the valuation of the whole payment business or as an exhaustive statement about safeguarded customer funds. 3
documentedAtlantic Money Ltd’s unaudited 2024 accounts report £2,070,980 cash, £1,852,880 short-term creditors, £259,483 net assets and an average of three employees. 3
- qualification
- These figures concern the local payment company and are not the value of the entire acquired business or a statement of all safeguarded customer funds. The accounts use the small-entities framework and audit exemption.
2The Belgian register and prudential list identify the same company
analysisDEEL PAYMENTS EUROPE is Belgian enterprise 0783.476.423, founded in March 2022. Its retained enterprise record lists five directors, several shared with the UK business. The National Bank of Belgium’s October 6, 2026 list separately identifies the company under payment-service categories 3 and 6, with the original listing dated June 2022. The enterprise record and prudential list date the rename differently, but their shared registration number anchors the identity. 6 7
documentedThe National Bank of Belgium list dated 6 October 2026 includes Deel Payments Europe NV, enterprise 0783.476.423, with a listing date of 21 June 2022 and payment-service categories 3 and 6. Its change list records Atlantic Money NV becoming Deel Payments Europe NV from 4 June 2026. 7
- qualification
- The prudential list and enterprise register give different effective dates for the name update; they share the same enterprise number. Neither entry is a finding about every transaction the firm processed.
analysisFor the UK business, the retained support page claims FCA authorisation under reference 947491 and points to a firm record. This dossier preserves that as the company’s statement: the underlying FCA firm page was not independently retained. That narrower basis should not be confused with the Belgian licence list, whose regulator record is present in the packet. 8
attributedAtlantic Money’s retained support page describes the UK company as an FCA-authorised payment institution under reference 947491. 8
- qualification
- This is a company statement pointing to the register; the corresponding live FCA firm record was not retained for independent confirmation in this archive.
3A customer scam complaint did not establish wrongdoing by the provider
analysisThe Financial Ombudsman Service considered a €6,500 loss to a car-sale scam and did not uphold the complaint against Atlantic Money. It found no fair basis to require reimbursement, considered the circumstances in which the customer authorised the transfers, and noted the attempted recovery. The decision attributes the fraud to the scammer and addresses the particular complaint. Listing it as an adverse finding against the payment company would reverse its outcome. 9
documentedThe Financial Ombudsman Service did not uphold complaint DRN-4979944 against Atlantic Money Ltd concerning €6,500 lost to a car-sale scam. It found no fair basis to require reimbursement and considered that the company had attempted recovery. 9
- qualification
- The fraud was attributed to the scammer, not established as misconduct by Atlantic Money. The decision concerns the specific complaint and does not determine every aspect of the company’s regulatory compliance.
4How Atlantic Money entered the group
analysisThe reported December 2024 acquisition brought Atlantic Money’s transfer business into Deel on undisclosed terms. A later GLEIF response identifies Atlantic Money, Inc. as a direct child of Deel, while the UK share statement identifies that US company as the holder of the UK company’s shares. These records describe different layers of the structure. Accounting consolidation does not supply a precise equity percentage, and the deal announcement does not settle every later direct-shareholder discrepancy. 10 11
documentedThe retained GLEIF direct-children response for Deel lists Atlantic Money, Inc., Delaware registration 4002648 and LEI 984500D998A67A3E3E95. 10
- qualification
- This is a reported direct accounting-consolidation relationship. It is not a complete group register or an independently established equity percentage.
attributedReporting dated 2 December 2024 describes Deel’s acquisition of Atlantic Money on undisclosed terms. It identifies Neeraj Baid as co-founder and CEO and says Deel had used Wise for cross-currency transfers over the previous five years. 11
- qualification
- The transaction report describes the business acquisition, while the separate GLEIF and UK shareholder records identify legal entities. No purchase price or bank licence is inferred.
